Gold prices have been on the upswing and rose by Rs 100 to Rs 31,150 per ten gram, as per reports. The rise is being spurred by the wedding season demand, as per reports. The rise in gold globally was by 0.14 per cent to USD 1,304.00 an ounce in New York.

In India, Delhi, the price of gold of 99.9 percent rose by Rs 100 to Rs 31,150 while that of 99.5 percent purity rose by Rs 100 to Rs 31,000 per 10 grams. The metal had gained Rs 400 in the previous four sessions. There was no change in the price of sovereign gold which remained at Rs 24,600 per piece of eight grams in limited deals, as per reports. The bullion traders believe the sentiments are bullish owing to the global trend as is supported by the jewellers buying at domestic spot market, as per reports.
