diamond world news service

The diamond industry in Israel will be given a boost to its expertise as GIA plans to organise a Diamond Grading Lab Class at the Israel Diamond Manufacturers Association (IDMA) offices in Ramat Gan. The class will take place between November 13 to 17, 2016.

The class will be taught by experienced and qualified GIA instructors, in which participants will gain technical and practical education in the observation and evaluation of these gems. The participants will work with actual gemstones, a modern gem microscope and a jeweler’s loupe to learn how to grade diamonds consistently and accurately. The class studies GIA’s Diamond Grading System; explores time-saving shortcuts to determine a variety of grading factors; and introduces methods for reading a GIA Diamond Grading Report. To complete the class, participants must pass a two-stone practical test.
