Muthoot Exim Pvt Ltd, part of the Muthoot Pappachan Group launches a new scheme which allows consumers to convenience to sell their old gold at their doorstep, reports say. The company notes this service supports the Indian government’s vision of recycling gold. The scheme is entitled ‘Mobile Muthoot Gold Point’.

The service is an on-call vehicle is built with hi-tech equipment and safety measures with multi-level scientific testing of gold, as per reports. The mechanism assures consumers the sale is conducted in transparent, safe and legal manner. The customers are able to view a step-by-step process of valuation and recycle their old or unused gold.

The customers would need to fix an appointment to avail of the services which is first being introduced in Mumbai and will then be taken further to other cities, reports say.

Customers also have the option to melt the gold using the mobile van and be given instant cash (for value up to Rs 20,000) or credit for the same value. The online payment will directly be credited to the customers' account.
