Cartier to re-open its flagship New York store

The 653, Fifth Avenue address in New York is set to welcome the Cartier flagship store, which had been closed for two years, as per reports. The store was closed for restoration work. It is expected to open on September 7 amidst a gathering of celebrities, reports say.

The store was previously a mansion made in 1904 and used as a private residence until 1917, after which Pierre Cartier, bought the location in exchange for a pearl necklace worth $1 million. Now, at the re-opening of the store, Cartier will showcase the necklace which it has reproduced, as per reports.
