Chow Tai Fook’s retail sales in Mainland China drop 13%

Leading jewellery retailer Chow Tai Fook recorded a drop in it retail sales for the three months ending June 30, 2016. Its retail sales in Mainland China dipped 13 percent. In the region, there was a 17 percent fall in value terms and 20 percent in volume terms, for its same-store sales, reports say. The company’s retail sales in Hong Kong and Macau, dropped 22 percent and same-store sales took a 20 percent dip, reports add.

Also, the gem-set jewellery category saw a drop of 12 percent in sales in Mainland China, but dipped 27 percent in Hong Kong. Nevertheless, the company noted that the sales in Mainland China depicted a sequential improvement over the previous quarter, reports add.
