China Gold output up 14% to 36.18 tonnes in Jan-Feb

China’s gold production for the January-to-February 2007 period increased by 14 per cent to 36.18 tonnes, over the same span a year earlier, according to the China Gold Association, according to reports.

The gold output in February was up 3 per cent to 16.32 tonnes on a year-on-year basis.

Gold producing firms earned a combined profit of $133 million (1.03 billion yuan) during the two months, an increase of 47 per cent versus last year.
