GJSCI signs MOU with MSSDS

Will explore collaborations for increasing employment potential in the State of Maharashtra

Gem & Jewellery Skill Council of India (GJSCI) signed a MOU with MSSDS (Maharashtra State Skill Development Society) on 8th February 2016. Chief Minister of Maharashtra Shri. Devendra Fadnavis graced the occasion.

Through this MOU, the signatories Mr.Prem Kumar Kothari, Chairman – GJSCI and Mr. S. S. Sandhu, Principal Secretary – Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Department, Government of Maharashtra have undertaken to explore collaborations for increasing employment potential in the State of Maharashtra by enabling supply of skilled manpower in the desired sector, strengthening the training infrastructure related to the requisite skill set as well as by adopting new age technologies as per the demand of industries.

The MOU also states that MSSDS along with GJSCI undertake the onus of skilling 12000 tribal girl child in the next two years and hereon, any kind of skilling and improvement in the working conditions of the artisans in the gem and jewellery sector will be routed through GJSCI.
