Industry leaders to deliver insights at Diamond Detection Expo & Symposium

As is with the purpose of the Diamond Detection Expo & Symposium – to see the trade gain knowledge on machines and thought process on lab-grown diamond detection – the seminar programs will include two main subjects - “Detection: Current & Future” and “Synthetic Diamonds: Implications for the Industry”, by industry leaders and experts, reports say.

The Symposium is slated between December 15-16, 2015 at the Bharat Diamond Bourse, and is a joint initiative by the GJEPC and the BDB.

On day one, the panel discussion featuring Detection: Current & Future will include presentations by Dr. Philip Martineau, IIDGR - Detection of Synthetic Diamonds : The Current Situation; Dr. Thomas Hainschwang, GGTL - Coloured Diamond Detection & Identification of Lab Grown Diamonds; Dr. Wuyi Wang, GIA - Advances In Cvd Technology & Associated Challenges For Detection; Jean-Pierre Chalain, SSEF - Testing of Melee Sizes & Large Throughput.

The second day discussion - Synthetic Diamonds: Implications for the Industry will have talks by Russell Mehta - Vice Chairman, GJEPC, Anoop Mehta - President, Bharat Diamond Bourse, Ashish Mehta – Convener NDMC, GJEPC, Thomas M. Moses - Executive Vice President and Chief Laboratory & Research Officer, GIA, C K Venkataraman - CEO Jewellery, Titan Company Limited.

The seminar programs are one of the two segments of the event, the other being product showcase, as per reports. Other seminars to unfold will be based on technology and techniques on detection, reports add.
