Amazon India sees healthy demand for precious jewellery this Diwali

Online retail giant Amazon India recorded a healthy sale of jewellery this year on Diwali. It noted a four-fold rise in its precious jewellery sale, as per reports. The rise was in comparison to the time precious jewellery were introduced on the Amazon India platform last year, reports add. The rise in units sold was almost five fold whereas the operations during the festival rose about six times.

The retailer recorded maximum sales for gold coins and 22-karat hallmarked gold jewellery. There was a 280 percent spurt in the sale of 22-karat gold in October over September, as per the company. The 22-karat gold category accounts for about 22 percent of the company’s total sales of precious jewellery, reports add.
