It has been formally announced by the Responsible Jewellery Council that the De Beers group has met all expectations and come out triumphant. As Andrew Bone, RJC’s executive director, says, “It is a pleasure to announce De Beers has been certified against the 2013 COP. The new provisions under the 2013 COP address important issues for our members and their supply chain. We are thrilled to see members achieving Certification against the standard and warmly congratulate De Beers.”

Earlier, verification assessment was led by Becky Toal from SGS United Kingdom Limited, one of the independent third-party auditing firms accredited by the RJC.

An ecstatic Purvi Shah, product integrity manager, De Beers Group says, “Operating sustainably and responsibly sits at the heart of De Beers’ business strategy and we are therefore pleased to receive confirmation that we measure up to the exacting requirements of credible and external standards like the RJC’s.”
