75.56 carats yellow diamond ring is top lot Christie’s Important Jewels sale

Christie’s held its Important Jewels sale in New York on October 20th, churning revenues worth $19,969,375. Online bidding was much evident and active in the sale, with clients participating from locations including Hong Kong, Indonesia, Monaco, the United Kingdom, and all over the United States.

A cushion modified brilliant-cut Fancy Vivid yellow diamond ring of 75.56 carats went down the hammer for $3,609,000, the top lot sale of the event. Additional top prices were achieved for – a marquise-cut D color diamond of 18.8 carats ($1.45 million), a heart-shaped D color diamond of 12.75 carats ($965,000), a cushion-cut fancy yellow diamond of 34.12 carats ($725,000).

The entire auction offered important diamonds, fine colored gemstones, enduring designs of Donald Claflin, Jean Schlumberger and David Webb.

Of the notable jewels, a multi-gem and diamond brooch, by Donald Claflin, Tiffany & Co. signed Tiffany & Co. designed by Donald Claflin sold for $137,000. A multi-gem and diamond brooch, Signed Tiffany & Co., designed by Donald Claflin sold for $233,000; while a diamond and emerald ‘Ballet Precieu brooch by Van Cleef & Arples sold for $161,000. An art deco emerald, diamond and onyx pendant circa 1925 was bought for Sold for $245,000.

The diamond and kunzite spider brooch, by David Webb, Designed as a circular and baguette-cut diamond flexible spider, centering upon a cushion-cut kunzite was sold for Sold for: $77,500.
