Alrosa scores at its 23rd diamond auction

Generates US$36 million revenue

Alrosa and the Diamond Chamber of Russia teamed up to organise a global auction for special- sized diamonds, in Moscow. In the offer, 632 diamonds weighing 11,400 carats were bid by 61 Russian and foreign companies. The final bid results saw 120 lots being bought and Alrosa making a revenue of US$36 million.

The largest stone to be auctioned was a 274.37 carat, while there were 24 stones above 50 carats. This was Alrosa’s 23rd diamond auction and the company is planning for another by end-August 2007.
