Botswana invites applications for prospecting licenses in the Orapa Kimberlite Field

The Botswana government announced inviting applications for prospecting licenses in the Orapa Kimberlite Field, reports say. The government will accept applications from interested companies and individuals. The Ministry of Minerals, Energy and Water Resources through the Department of Mines made the official announcement for the applications, as per reports.

According the announcement, the licences pertain to six blocks covering some known kimberlites in the Orapa-Letlhakane area in eastern Botswana. Each block requires a separate application which is required to be submitted at the office of the Department of Mines (Prospecting Licence Unit) in Gaborone.

The applicants are expected to provide information regarding they being qualified to undertake prospecting operations in accordance with Part IV of the Mines and Minerals Act, reports say. The last date for receiving applications is July 17, 2015.
