WGC adds three new members

Now represents 65% global gold production

Three new mining companies Harmony Gold, Peter Hambro Mining Plc and Yamana Gold Inc. have joined the World Gold Council (WGC) as its new members. With the trio included, the WGC now has 25 members to its list and represents 65% of the worldwide gold production.

Pierre Lassonde, the chairman of the WGC, said: “It’s a very positive development to welcome three new member companies. This particular mix of companies signifies the international appeal of WGC and the benefits we offer to members of all sizes.
