Kiran Gems, the world’s largest manufacturer of diamonds, received the 2000th D-Scope ever produced by HRD Antwerp during a handover ceremony at the Kiran Gems factory in Surat, India, on March 14, 2015.

The D-Scope features a patented gem manipulating system to facilitate facet measurements, and incorporates two light sources: a dark-field light and daylight to control the inner and outer characteristics of a polished diamond. A special light source called “Avalight” can be added, which is used to visualise the surface finish of a facet with very high contrast. HRD Antwerp has an extensive experience in researching, examining and grading diamonds which it fully used during the development of its own analysis tool, the powerful diamond microscope D-Scope. This tool has constantly been evaluated and refined throughout the years in order to optimise the analysis of diamonds.
