Lonmin plc, one of the leading primary producers of platinum group metals has included Varda Shine to its Board, as an independent non-executive director, reports say. Varda Shine exited from DTC as its CEO in February 2014, a post she served for eight years. Previously she has also served at De Beers in executive and managerial levels in Israel and London for 30 years, during which she also held non-executive positions on the Boards of DTC Botswana and Namibia DTC, reports add.

Lonmin expressed delight on welcoming Varda Shine, expressing confidence in her experience within the mining industry, particularly in the Southern African region, which would add much to the company, reports say.
