GJF discusses hallmarking issues for India

To firm up the mandate of hallmarking, which will soon apply to the Indian jewellery industry, from January 2008, the board and members of the All India Gems & Jewellery Trade Federation (GJF) held a video conference discussion.

The talk represented varied views from various cities including Mumbai, Pune, Jaipur, Ahmedabad, Surat, Vadodara, Rajkot, Ranchi, Bangalore, Bhubaneshwar, Chandigarh, New Delhi, Chennai, Coimbatore, Hyderabad, Kolkata,.

A proposal of the hallmarking report will be finalised and submitted to the Government of India by the end-July 2007.
