SGCCI, Thai body to ink MoU for trading in coloured stones

The South Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SGCCI), Gems and Jewellery and Precious Metal Federation of Thailand and Thai Gems and Jewellery Traders Association are likely to sign an Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for trading colored stones, reports say.

The MoU is expected to be signed during Sparkle -15 organised by SGCCI under the Vibrant Gujarat -2015 at convention center at Sarsana from January 3 – 6, 2014, adds report.

Commenting on the Thai jewellery industry, Rohit Mehta, former president of SGCCI said, "Thai jewellery industry is known for its exquisite designs. We are looking at cooperation and collaboration so that these designs could be either made in India or jewellery manufactured here or we could also get the training in field of designing."
