HRD and Lexus create a unique training programme

A unique training programme has been developed jointly by the HRD Antwerp NV and Lexus, which is a Surat-based expert company dealing in diamond processing machinery manufacturing and technology development. Looking at the fact that the margins of diamond manufacturers have slimmed substantially in the last decade, the programme encourages the manufacturers to be more open to creativity and in turn optimising profit margins.

The programme aims at assisting diamond cutters and designers in creating their own unique diamond cuts. It informs designers how to differentiate their diamond from those of other designers, and to understand the process of designing and performance optimising. Also informs about the necessary skill of understanding the light performance.

The ‘Cut Designing & Analysis’ course will be conducted in Antwerp, from June 22-26, 2009. The topics to be taught would include - : optical properties of diamond, process flow of designing a new cut, Cut Designer in Diamond Calculator, Generation of XML and ASC file, HDR and ETAS, viewing polish under various structured lighting, designing standard popular cuts, designing special cuts and optimising them for performance, preparing ASC file for allocation in rough diamonds, report printing and manufacturing guidelines.
