With an impending slowdown globally where the fears of recession loom at large, the US Federal Reserve tumbling down, Crude futures falling to $80, TSX futures muting, the USD index coming off highs, and domestic imported inflation cooling off; Reserve Bank of India upholding its 6.7% inflation estimate for FY ending March stating that the battle against inflation was still on. The central bank lowered GDP expectation to 6.8% from 7% noted previously. Europe and western countries are clamoring economically as inflation has reached the common man. World Gold Council’s Gold Outlook Report 2023 cautioned about increasing central bank rates or abruptly depreciating it; noting that it could cause severe and widespread downturn or stagflation. Goldman Sachs in its report The Global Economy in 2075 has predicted slow global growth as Asian countries like China expected to overtake US by 2035 and India to catch up by 2075.
