The Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) conducted an outreach programme in Brisbane, Australia, connecting Indian jewellery exporters with members of Queensland’s jewellery trade.
The initiative was aimed at strengthening commercial engagement between Indian exporters and Australian jewellery businesses, while providing participants with an opportunity to understand market requirements and explore potential business partnerships.
The Brisbane programme forms part of GJEPC’s efforts to expand market access for Indian gem and jewellery exporters in Australia. The country has emerged as an important destination for Indian jewellery exports following the implementation of the India-Australia Economic Cooperation and Trade Agreement (ECTA).
The outreach provided Indian exporters with a platform to engage directly with jewellery trade representatives in Queensland and discuss opportunities in the market. Such interactions are also intended to support greater awareness of Indian jewellery manufacturing capabilities among Australian buyers.
Australia is among the markets being targeted by GJEPC as Indian exporters look to diversify their international customer base and build business in markets supported by free-trade agreements.
