Tiffany & Co. has officially unveiled the Empire Diamond Necklace, a reimagined masterpiece that now stands as the most valuable piece of jewellery the house has ever offered for sale. At the heart of the necklace is an extraordinary 80-carat, D-colour, internally flawless oval diamond—setting a new benchmark in the brand’s storied legacy.

Drawing inspiration from a historic Art Deco necklace originally designed for the 1939 World’s Fair, Tiffany’s latest creation fuses heritage and innovation. While the original featured a 200-carat aquamarine, the Empire Diamond Necklace elevates the design with one of the rarest white diamonds available on the market today. The piece is estimated to be valued at over $20 million.

The journey of the Empire Diamond began in Botswana, where the rough stone was discovered. It was cut in Israel before being crafted into its final form at Tiffany’s famed workshop in New York City. The diamond’s exceptional characteristics—chemical purity and lack of inclusions—make it a true one-of-a-kind gem. Fittingly, the diamond was named after New York, the Empire State.

Crafted in platinum, the necklace features a total of 578 diamonds, including 353 round brilliants and 224 custom-cut baguettes, all meticulously arranged in a refined Art Deco silhouette. In a nod to versatility, the Empire Diamond can be detached and set into a ring, offering dual wearability for its future owner.

The necklace made its exclusive debut at Tiffany’s Blue Book event in Dubai and has since drawn global attention—not only for its unparalleled gem, but for its significance in Tiffany’s design evolution. Beyoncé was the first to wear the necklace publicly, showcasing it at her 2022 Oscars afterparty and again in a British Vogue cover shoot.

While Tiffany’s legendary 128.54-carat Tiffany Diamond remains the brand’s most iconic gem—never for sale and worn only four times in public—the Empire Diamond Necklace is the first of its magnitude to be made available for purchase.

Combining storied design, exceptional rarity, and technical brilliance, the Empire Diamond Necklace cements its place in the pantheon of contemporary high jewellery and underscores Tiffany & Co.’s enduring influence in the world of natural diamonds.
