Presented as "Swarovski - Masters of Light from Vienna to Shanghai," this exhibition is set to delve into the artistic brilliance and craftsmanship of the renowned crystal Maison. It will uncover its distinctive influence on culture, tracing back from its inception in the late 19th century Austria to its impact on the contemporary world.
The emergence of Swarovski in 1895 harmonized with the rise of haute couture. Founder Daniel Swarovski's voyage to Paris introduced novel cuts, colours, and boundless inspiration to early couturiers. Visionary creators transformed Swarovski crystals into a diverse array of forms, becoming a pivotal element on runways, in fashion, and in the realm of couture jewellery.
"Swarovski–Masters of Light" is poised to exhibit an exclusive collection of stage garments and red-carpet ensembles. Many of these selections will be drawn from the esteemed Swarovski Heritage Collection, making their inaugural appearance to the public. This exhibition will also feature masterpieces spanning over a century of haute couture's evolution as an art form.
Structured around three foundational elements, the exhibition's focus will encompass Swarovski's Austrian heritage, the unmatched savoir-faire passed down through generations of craftspeople at the Tyrolean Alps headquarters, and the brand's distinct connection with the fashion industry and popular culture.
"Masters of Light" will also unveil Swarovski's pioneering advancements in crystal cut and colour. At present, the brand boasts an astonishing range of over 300,000 crystal variations, offering an array of hues, cuts, and effects. Moreover, the exhibition will provide insights into Swarovski's forward-looking visions, including the introduction of captivating fine jewellery collections crafted using Swarovski Created Diamonds.
