Among the treasures are diamonds gifted to her by none other than Elton John.

Scheduled to take place in Paris on October 10, the auction promises a selection of Bassey's cherished pieces, each holding a special significance in her illustrious career, as announced by Sotheby’s on Wednesday. The collection boasts jewels from renowned design houses like Cartier and Van Cleef & Arpels, alongside a distinguished Piaget timepiece.

For Bassey, jewellery collection is akin to gathering memories, each piece carrying its own unique story. "All the pieces are meaningful and have a story to tell, whether I bought them for myself or they were gifted to me," she shared. Among these cherished items is a stunning vintage Van Cleef & Arpels ring adorned with white diamonds, a gift from Elton John following her performance at one of his AIDS gala evenings, which she has treasured over the years. Another notable piece is an emerald parure she acquired to commemorate her inaugural Royal Variety Performance in the presence of the late queen.

Ahead of the auction, Sotheby’s plans to showcase these remarkable jewels in Monaco, London, and Paris, offering enthusiasts an exclusive glimpse into the glamour and history encapsulated within Bassey's collection.
