Her Royal Highness Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana Rajakanya presided over the opening ceremony of the 73rd Bangkok Gems & Jewelry Fair on 22 February 2026 at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center (QSNCC), Bangkok. The fair is organized by the Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP), Ministry of Commerce, with the Gem and Jewelry Institute of Thailand (Public Organization) (GIT) as co-organizer. The exhibition is scheduled to run from 22 to 26 February 2026.
The opening ceremony was attended by Suphajee Suthumpun, Minister of Commerce; Vuttikrai Leewiraphan, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce; Sunanta Kangvalkulkij, Director-General of DITP; and Sumed Prasongpongchai, Director General of GIT. Senior executives from the Ministry of Commerce and representatives from relevant private sector organizations were also present.
During the ceremony, Her Royal Highness officially opened the fair by cutting the ceremonial ribbon. She also visited the special exhibition titled “TREASURE OF DREAMS: SIRIVANNAVARI X BEAUTY GEMS,” which features a high jewellery collection designed by Her Royal Highness and crafted by Thai artisans. The collection reflects an initiative to preserve traditional craftsmanship and support Thailand’s gems and jewellery industry internationally.
According to the Minister of Commerce, Thailand’s gems and jewellery sector remains one of the country’s top three export industries, generating more than 400 billion baht annually, excluding unwrought gold. The Ministry noted that the Bangkok Gems & Jewelry Fair, first organized in 1983 by DITP, has expanded significantly over the decades and is now internationally recognized as one of the world’s four major jewellery trade exhibitions.
The fair serves as a platform for Thai manufacturers, exporters, and traders to engage with international buyers and business partners. It facilitates trade negotiations, business networking, and knowledge exchange across the global gems and jewellery supply chain. The event also supports Thailand’s position as a global trading hub for gemstones and jewellery.
For its 73rd edition, the exhibition area has been expanded across Halls 1 to 8 on the G and LG levels, along with the Plenary Hall on Level 1 at QSNCC. The fair features participation from 1,222 companies from Thailand and overseas, occupying a total of 2,794 booths.
Organizers expect the event to attract more than 45,000 visitors from around the world. The fair is projected to generate trade value of at least 3.5 billion baht, reflecting continued international demand and trade engagement in Thailand’s gems and jewellery sector.
