Against the backdrop of record-high gold prices, PGI is positioning platinum as the priority metal for the future, citing its strength, sustainability, and expanding appeal beyond bridal jewellery to men’s and other emerging segments.
The highlight of PGI’s initiatives is a panel discussion on “The Platinum Advantage: Markets, Business and Innovations”, moderated by PGI CEO Tim Schlick. Taking place on 19 September at the Grand Foyer Main Stage, the panel will feature global experts – Andy Zhou (Kingli Jewelry, China), Josh Helmich (Helmich Luxury Group, USA), Jason Brimelow (Brimelow Group, Australia & Southeast Asia), Noriyuki Kamei (Kuwayama Corporation, Japan), and Avinash Pahuja (ORO Precious Metals, India). The session will explore platinum’s market edge over white gold, new product opportunities, and innovations reshaping the industry. A networking reception will follow.
Adding to the spotlight, PGI will present “Sublime Shine: Metal Innovation in the Art of Jewellery”, a 430-sq-metre exhibition highlighting platinum’s role in jewellery, clean energy, and medicine, alongside a dedicated men’s jewellery zone. The Platinum Pavilion will return with cutting-edge creations from six exhibitors, including B.N. Jewellers India, Jewelex India, Kingli Jewelry, and ORO Precious Metals.
“Platinum offers young consumers rarity, purity, and ethical credibility in a contemporary form,” said Schlick. “With innovation advancing faster than ever, now is the moment for designers and manufacturers to seize platinum’s unique opportunities.”
