The Natural Diamond Council (NDC) will launch World Diamond Day on April 8, 2026, as a global initiative aimed at encouraging participation across the natural diamond ecosystem.
The initiative is positioned as a collective, participation-driven moment, bringing together stakeholders including diamantaires, manufacturers, retailers, designers, and consumers. It focuses on sharing narratives linked to natural diamonds across geographies.
Participants will be encouraged to share photos or short videos on social media using the hashtags #WorldDiamondDay and #NaturalDiamonds. The council has outlined multiple content themes, including personal milestones such as engagements and anniversaries, heirloom jewellery, and the journey of diamonds from source to finished product.
Additional themes include craftsmanship, design processes, and the broader impact of the diamond industry on communities, education, and conservation. The initiative is intended to highlight the role of natural diamonds across the value chain.
According to the NDC, the format is not structured as a campaign but as an open platform shaped by participants. The council aims to enable real-time, global storytelling that reflects both consumer sentiment and industry perspectives.
To support participation, NDC has made a digital toolkit available on its website, providing optional assets and guidelines. Businesses and organizations are encouraged to involve internal teams, partners, and customers to expand reach and engagement.
The initiative is expected to create a unified global touchpoint for the natural diamond category, supporting visibility and reinforcing its positioning through authentic, user-driven content.
