In a creative partnership with director Tim Burton and Oscar-winning costume designer Colleen Atwood, Fabergé has crafted a 22-piece capsule collection that captures the spirit of the cult classic, blending whimsy with high craftsmanship.

The 1980s are often hailed as the golden age of horror comedies, with 'Beetlejuice' standing out as one of the most memorable films of the era. Directed by Tim Burton, the movie captivated audiences with its unique blend of macabre humour and gothic aesthetics, earning a dedicated fan base that has only grown over the years. Now, with the sequel 'Beetlejuice Beetlejuice' set to hit cinemas on September 6, Fabergé brings the film’s distinctive style to life in a series of meticulously designed jewels.

Atwood, known for her work on films like 'Edward Scissorhands', 'Sleepy Hollow', and 'Alice in Wonderland', has expertly translated Burton’s vision into costume design for the sequel. She has now extended her creative touch to the world of jewellery, collaborating with Fabergé to create pieces that embody the playful yet eerie essence of 'Beetlejuice'. “I wanted to embrace the modern aesthetic of Beetlejuice’s graphic style with the amazing artistry of Fabergé,” Atwood remarked, emphasizing the importance of jewellery in adding depth and richness to her costume designs.

Fabergé’s creative director, Josina von dem Bussche-Kessell, highlighted the synergy between Burton’s artistic sensibilities and the legacy of the maison’s founder, Peter Carl Fabergé. “Tim Burton’s unique ability to bring characters to life with a quirky and imaginative flair resonates deeply with Fabergé’s heritage,” she explained, drawing parallels between Burton’s work and Fabergé’s historic Imperial Eggs, which often featured intricate designs and hidden surprises.

The collection itself is a testament to Fabergé’s commitment to both innovation and tradition. Pieces include egg pendants and earrings adorned with black and red UV enamel, white diamonds, Gemfields Mozambican rubies, and Zambian emeralds. The design of each piece is inspired by the film’s distinctive visual elements, such as Betelgeuse’s iconic striped suit and the monstrous Sandworm.

Liisa Tallgren, Fabergé’s head of design, shared insights into the technical challenges of the collection, particularly the spiral motifs that required precision and expertise in gem-setting and enamel work. “The spiral pieces were particularly challenging to design,” she noted, “but the result is a collection that not only captures the fun and whimsy of 'Beetlejuice' but also showcases Fabergé’s unparalleled craftsmanship.”

As the film prepares to introduce a new generation to the world of 'Beetlejuice', Fabergé’s collection offers fans a unique way to celebrate the sequel’s release. The Fabergé X 'Beetlejuice Beetlejuice' collection is available now on Faberge.com and Saks.com, providing a rare opportunity for collectors and enthusiasts to own a piece of cinematic history reimagined in dazzling jewels.
