Ex-Alrosa Executive Assumes Leadership Role at JVC

Rebecca Foerster has been elected as the Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Jewellers Vigilance Committee (JVC), marking the beginning of her three-year term, the organization announced on January 22

Currently serving as the North American President of the jewellery brand Hearts on Fire, a subsidiary of Hong Kong-based retailer Chow Tai Fook, Foerster brings a wealth of experience to her new role. Previously, she spent three years as the President of Alrosa’s North American division.

 Reflecting on the significance of the organization, Foerster emphasized, “The importance of this organization and the role it plays to support every part of our supply chain to make sure we are aware of significant issues and changes, to protect us and make sure we are compliant with ever-changing rules and legislation, has never been more relevant than today. Our industry has become more dynamic, global, and complex, and the Jewellers Vigilance Committee serves as our ears and eyes to make sure members are up to date with impending changes and have the insight and tools they need to respond to them.”

 Other notable members on the board include:

- Jenny Luker, President of Platinum Guild International, serving as the Past Chairman.

- Julie Yoakum, President and Chief Brand Merchant for Helzberg Diamonds, holding the position of First Vice President.

- Michael Richards, Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Underwood’s Jewellers, appointed as Second Vice President.

- Mark Goldberg, Chief Financial Officer of Rolex Watch USA, taking on the role of Treasurer and Finance Committee Chair.

- Lisa Wong Lackland, General Counsel of Ben Bridge Jeweller, serving as Secretary and Legal Action Committee Chair.
