Christie’s Magnificent Jewels auction in New York on June 9 achieved $ 49.7 million with 100% sell-through, led by two blue diamonds that each realized more than $8 million.

Christie’s Magnificent Jewels auction held in New York on June 9 achieved total sales of $ 49,689,850, with the sale recording 100% sold by lot and 149% sold against its low estimate. The auction attracted participation from buyers and bidders across global markets, with 58% from the Americas, 21% from APAC, and 21% from EMEA.

The top lot of the sale was The Azure Blue, a 31.62-carat Fancy Blue Diamond, which realized $ 8,371,000. Another key highlight was a 5.04-carat Fancy Vivid Blue Marquise Brilliant-Cut Diamond, which sold for $ 8,127,000.

Colored gemstones recorded several notable results during the auction. An Exceptional Sapphire and Diamond Ring achieved $ 2,271,000 after bidding from telephone, online and in-room participants, nearly four times its low estimate. An Attractive Graff Sapphire and Diamond Ring realized $ 1,778,000, more than three times its low estimate, while an Important Sapphire and Diamond Ring sold for $ 2,149,000.

The sale also featured a number of private collections. From The Joanna Carson Collection: A Legacy of Glamour and Giving, an Attractive Sapphire and Diamond Ring sold for $ 508,000 against a low estimate of $ 50,000. A Pair of Impressive Sapphire and Diamond Pendant Earrings realized $ 457,200 against a low estimate of $ 100,000, while an Emerald and Diamond Ring achieved $ 368,300 against a low estimate of $ 50,000.

Among other collection highlights, a Pair of Superb David Morris Ruby and Diamond Pendant Earrings from the Collection of Bridget Rooney Koch realized $ 1,422,400, double its low estimate. An Important Van Cleef & Arpels Retro Diamond and Gold Bracelet from the Collection of Irene Roosevelt Aitken sold for $ 317,500, while an Art Deco Diamond Bow Brooch from the Collection of Gay Hugo-Martinez realized $ 241,300. The leading lot from the Collection of Lorinda Payson de Roulet was an Antique Natural Pearl and Diamond Brooch, which achieved $ 1,244,600.
