Bvlgari has unveiled two one-of-a-kind watch dials created in collaboration with Japanese artist Yasuhiro Asai, blending Italian design excellence with traditional Japanese craftsmanship. The dials, part of Bvlgari’s Lvcea collection, exemplify the maison’s ongoing commitment to innovation in fine watchmaking.
Yasuhiro Asai, a master of the ancient Urushi lacquer and Raden techniques, handcrafted each dial using layers of lacquer and delicate fragments of mother-of-pearl. These materials create a shimmering effect that reflects and refracts light, staying true to the Lvcea collection’s core theme of luminosity. Each dial reportedly required around 60 days to complete, underscoring the meticulous artistry involved in the process.
The collaboration highlights Bvlgari’s dedication to preserving artisanal heritage while introducing fresh perspectives through global partnerships. The fusion of Italian creativity and Japanese precision craftsmanship has resulted in two unique pieces that transcend traditional watch design, positioning them as both timepieces and works of art.
Through the Lvcea collection, Bvlgari continues to celebrate light and femininity, and this collaboration with Asai reinforces the brand’s reputation for combining cultural artistry with luxury innovation.
