Russian state-owned diamond company ALROSA, together with the organisations associated with it, plans to export approximately 36 million carats of rough diamonds in 2014. With the authorisation of the federal Government, ALROSA itself will export 21.34 million carats worth $3.184 billion, ALROSA Nyurba will export 7.9 million carats worth $724 million, Almazy Anabara will export 3.31 million carats worth $346.2 million, Severalmaz will export 800,000 carats worth $55 million and Nizhne-Lenskoye will export 2.5 million carats worth $355 million, for an ALROSA group total of 35.86 million carats.
However, these prices are determined on the basis of Russian Finance Ministry prices, which can be even a third lower than regular market prices.
