Antwerp to hold 1st Zimbabwe Diamond Tender

The first diamond tender of rough diamonds from Zimbabwe will take place this week in Antwerp under Antwerp World Diamond Centre (AWDC). Organised by First Element Bvba, the tender includes goods from Marange Resources, Diamond Mining Company (DMC), Anjin Investments, Jinan and Kusena Diamonds, and will be held in the Antwerp Diamond Tender Facility located in the AWDC offices.

The viewing will take place from Wednesday, December 11th to Tuesday, December 17th 2013, from 9AM to 8PM each day. The Tender Facility will also be open throughout the weekend, Saturday December 14th and Sunday December 15th, from 9AM to 6PM. The tender will close at 3PM on December 17th.

This tender represents the first European sale of Marange diamonds since the EU lifted its targeted sanctions against the state-run miner Zimbabwe Mining Development Corporation (ZMDC) in September.
