Exports of polished diamonds from Hong Kong in the said six months slipped 4 percent to $5.803 billion.
Imports of rough diamonds into Hong Kong in the said six month period increased 8 percent to $955.96 million, while rough diamond exports rose 43 percent to $1.388 billion.
Hong Kong’s net rough imports slipped almost five times standing at a deficit of $432.5 million (the same was in a deficit of $86.4 million in the comparable six months last year).
The net diamond account in the six month period increased 15 percent to $2.648 billion, reports say.
