First India-China Buyer Seller Meet for coloured stones gets underway

The first India-China Buyer Seller Meet for colored stones, unfolded with an opening ceremony on 7th April, 2013, at the Hotel Lalit in Jaipur. It brought together 17 Chinese buyers being introduced to 15 Indian colored stone manufacturers.

On the occasion of the opening, Rajiv Jain, Regional Chairman, GJEPC said that China, which is one of the largest markets in Asia besides India, is a very strategic market for the Indian gems and jewellery industry, considering two countries ' combined trade has potential to surpass the US in the coming years and go on to be the largest jewellery consuming and producing markets on this side of the globe.

The first day of the Meet took place today, 8th April, Chinese companies are seeking to explore opportunities and establish direct links with their Indian counter parts.

The meet will continue till 10th April.
