Second edition of IJ Jewellers’ Choice Design Awards offers new opportunities

The second edition of ‘IJ Jewellers’ Choice Design Awards’ is being presented this year, with more enhanced opportunities for its participants. The platform was developed by Indian Jeweller magazine, popularly known as IJ and has fast grown into becoming the face of the Indian jewellery industry. It is unique in its concept as it invites manufacturers and designers across India, to submit their designs in various categories and price points, and winners are voted by retailers across India.

After an overwhelming response for its debut edition last year, this year, the show is being presented along with the Jaipur Jewellery Show (JJS) as presenting partner. With this tie-up, voters for the Jewellers’ Choice Design Awards 2012 will get free registration for this prestigious show. The JJS is a popular event for the gem and jewellery industry, as it offers both B2B and B2C trading opportunities. The JJS will be held at the peak of the wedding season from December 22 - December 25, 2012.

Highlights of 2012: - Introducing new categories: Designer Jewellery Category; Price points above Rs 10 Lakh introduced for important categories like Best Bridal Jewellery, Best Necklace and Diamond Jewellery; Award ceremony at the Royale Pink City of India: Jaipur on 22nd Dec, 2012; New benchmark! highest votes : Best of the Best.

The design contest will begin in July 2012 and carry through six months. Entries are to be submitted from July 2 to August 30. Votes are to be cast on a website dedicated for the IJ Design Awards, ensuring transparency and fair judging. There are multiple ways of voting supported by computers, iPads and voting forms. Organisers have ensured a good media coverage and market exposure to the winning manufactures. Photographs of the participants will be put up for viewing and voting from September 15, 2012.

The entries will be judged to arrive at the top three designs in each category who will be deemed finalists in the respective category and will be announced on December 1, 2012. The entry with maximum votes amongst these three will be designated as the winner. Among the category award winners, the entry which receives the maximum votes will receive the prestigious Grand Prize Award and the photograph of the Grand Prize Award piece will feature on the cover of the December-January 2012 issue of IJ magazine.

All category award winners and finalists will be featured in IJ’s “Best of the Best” Jewellers’ Choice Award supplement, which will be mailed with the January issue of IJ. Also, all category award-winning pieces will be featured in December-January 2012 Issue of IJ. Winners will be announced in the Gala awards evening which will take place during the Jaipur Jewellery Show on 22nd Dec, 2012.
