No buyer interest for 37.68 carat diamond auctioned by NMDC

No buyer came forward for the 37.68 carat diamond considered to be the biggest diamond discovered by NMDC at Majhgavan, in Uttar Pradesh, India, during a recent auction held by state-run National Mineral Development Corporation. The auction offered diamonds of various sizes totaling upto 5200 carats. The 37.68 carat diamond was accompanied by another large sized diamond to have failed going down the hammer.

The auction was held at the NDMC mines club at Majhgavan, and hosted buyers from all over India.

The Panna mines at Majhgavan are considered Asia's biggest mechanised diamond mines. NMDC is currently the sole organised diamond producer in India.
