Sales at Su-Raj Diamonds and Jewellery increased by 35 percent to $157 million, during the second fiscal quarter ending September 30, 2009, reports say. Net profits shot up by 41 percent to $2.9 million and expenses increased by $152.4 million. In the said quarter, the company’s sales portfolio indicated a 35 percent rise in diamond sales to $43.2 million, and 36 percent increase in jewellery sales to $113.9 million.
The company also announced that its year to date group sales increased by 27 percent to $305.3 million; diamonds sales shot up by 25 percent to $83.6 million; and jewellery sales increased by 28 percent to $221.7 million. In the first six months of the fiscal, expenses rose 27 percent to $296.4 million and net profits rose by 4 percent to $5.5 million.
