AGTA re-introduces the Platinum Honors division

Contestants of the 2009 American Gem Trade Association (AGTA) Spectrum Awards, can compete for an additional category -the Platinum Honors division, as the AGTA re-introduced the category to the competition. This will allow those who are fond of working with platinum, a broader scope of expressing their talent. The AGTA has laid down terms for entries to the Platinum Honors division: each piece should contain at least 90 percent platinum (not including gemstones). Also, the metal should be of ISO standard quality. The Platinum Honors which has been decided in consultation with the Platinum Guild International (PGI), has six categories: bridal wear, classical, day wear, men's wear, best use of platinum, and colour.

Each winner of each category of the Platinum Honors, will be felicitated with a Platinum Honors trophy, presented at the annual AGTA dinner in Tucson in 2009. Also, PGI will bestow individual value-added media and promotional packages, valued between $8,000 and $30,000, to the winners.
