Description:
For time immemorial, the magic of gold and precious stones has captivated mankind. Old has always been the king of metals and the metal of kings; it is the ultimate measure of value and the status symbol of wealth. Over centuries, gold and precious stones have inspired romantic tales and spawned a million adventures.

From the Pharaohs to the Incas, the Indian subcontinent to Persia, the glittering Oriental land of thousand and one nights, through the mysterious Silk Road to warm Africa; jewellery and gold are the most controversial and fascinating items throughout the whole history of mankind.

Since the beginning of time, the intrinsic be warmth, sensuality and spiritual richness of gold precious stones have made them the jewel favourite material. They have inspired craftsmen worldwide to create works of art that unite people with their emotions. The UAE’s GDP grew by 6.6% last year, reaching Dhs.312.4 billion, largely largely because of higher oil price. This has helped the federation to consolidate its position as the third largest Arab economy, after Saudi Arabia and Egypt.

The Country’s per capita GDP rose to Dhs. 72,651 ($19,795) last year, from Dhs.59, 844 in 2003, despite an increase in population. The country’s population was estimated at about 4.32 million at the end of 2004. In terms of per capita GDP, the UAE ranks second among Arab countries, after Qatar

During late 2003 and the first half of 2004,the UAE economy continued to grow rapidly, due both to high oil prices and to the success of other sectors, including manufacturing, tourism& other industries. Continued development of the non-oil sectors reflects the focus on economic diversification.
