A long-term partnership was recently announced between the American Gem Society (AGS) and Jewelers Mutual Insurance Company, and hence introducing some added benefits for the AGS customers and the organisations themselves.

Jewelers Mutual will benefit with an exclusive insurance endorsement from the AGS. Jewelers Mutual will serve as presenting sponsor of the American Gem Society Conclave®, the premier educational event for the jewellery industry. The sponsorship ensures ongoing support for the event beginning with the 2009 Conclave, held April 1- 4 in Chicago. The AGS members will also benefit, as the member retailers – even those not yet insured through Jewelers Mutual – can take JM University courses, order Jewelers Mutual supplies, at no cost and no shipping fees, this enabling the company’s Personal Jewelry Insurance programme available to their customers.

Jewelers Mutual will also be allowed participation on various AGS committees, and ongoing recognition and promotion through each other’s print and online media.

“We share the belief that education is the foundation of a successful, profitable business,” said Ruth Batson, CEO and executive director of the American Gem Society. “So we are pleased to partner with Jewelers Mutual, and honored that they believe in the value of Conclave’s educational programme for the entire jewellery industry.”

Patti Geolat, board chair and interim president and CEO of Jewelers Mutual, agreed. “Jewelers Mutual is so excited about this opportunity to partner with such an important industry association that shares our mission and values. This is a unique arrangement for both of our organisations, and we look forward to aligning our efforts to continue providing superior service to the jewellery industry.”

The two organizations will reveal more details on their alliance at a press conference at the ATGA GemFair in Tucson, Ariz, at the AGS Booth, number 17, on Friday, Feb. 6th, 2009. This is the first tie-up between the two organisations.
