Maharashtra Government is planning to set up jewellery and knowledge smart city in the state to promote the growth of gems and jewellery sector, says a report.
The project will also have support activities like training institute, research centre, exhibition and convention centre, residences for employees, hostel, schools and hospitals. CM Devendra Phadnavis during a function in Mumbai requested Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) is likely to provide space for the proposed project which will have a dedicated zone for manufacturing and related activities, adds a report.
