It’s not every day that a company wins two prestigious international design awards within a single calendar year. That achievement alone would probably be proof enough of the levels of creativity in design and perfection in manufacture that have been achieved by MVee Haute Jewellery. But when one discovers that those awards have been won in two separate countries, outside of the one where MVee is based, and in two different continents, it further strengthes the realisation that one has come across a creative team whose excellence is indeed universal.

In mid 2011, MVee was the winner in the international section of the Solitaire Design Awards held in conjunction with India’s largest trade fair, IIJS. The winning piece was from the company’s Fleur d’ete collection and captured the beauty of the feature flower, Angel’s Trumpet using brilliant white diamonds with pink sapphires and rubelite drops. It was the same combination of breathtaking white diamonds with distinctive coloured stones that brought MVee honours at the recently concluded AGTA show in the US. This time it was a dazzling coloured stone ring paved with white diamonds, blue sapphires and a moonstone of 17.62 cts that caught the judges’ fancy.

MVee is part of the Aspire group, established in 1999 with a vision to emerge as an acclaimed manufacturer of luxury jewellery. After the initial years of success as a wholesale supplier of fashionable, high-end products with a design and finish that was on par with leading European names, Aspire expanded its business by developing its own in house brands, the latest and best known of which is Mvee Haute Jewellery.

Marrying impeccable craftsmanship with superior design, MVee transforms high quality materials into exquisite, wearable pieces of art that make a bold and lasting statement based on twin themes of fantasy and fashion. A special design studio was set up last August from where a global team of designers operates under MVee Creative Director, Hans Lau and Chief Designer, Ms. Wing to give shape to the dramatic ideas and elegant, natural forms of the finished pieces. They travel extensively and draw inspiration from key fashion cities including Paris and Milan. The result: entirely unique and contemporary designs where the fire of diamonds is tempered with the coolness of style. Last year the company opened a de Design innovation and quality are the core values that define Mvee jewellery. As CEO David Shah puts it, “We believe in constantly evolving and developing new jewellery-making techniques. Our company takes no shortcuts to success.”

Mvee today offers seven different collections that have been well accepted across the world. These include:

Wild at Heart: A magnificent collection that embraces the femininity and the individuality of a modern woman, capturing her spirit and passion as reflected in the nature of animals – wild or tame, fierce or docile. Each piece reflects the strength, beauty, confidence and gracefulness of Earth’s magnificent creatures, and is realistically executed with precious detailing and exquisite craftsmanship, be it the intense gaze of an eagle, or the predatory pounce of a leopard.

Galerie: Tasteful and classy, this collection is a treasure trove of both time-honoured and contemporary designs. Dazzling diamonds are presented in modern colour schemes of white, black and brown, striking a chord with the sophisticated style of today’s tastemakers.

Tudor’s Touch: A fantastic journey back to an age of intrigue, power and opulence. Tudor’s Touch draws inspiration from the diamonds and jewels adorning royalty in earlier times and unlocks the healing powers of luminous gemstones.

Fleur d’ete: Inspired by flowers, the time-honoured symbol of beauty and femininity that has been woven into tales of romance and happiness, this collection also strikes a chord with the modern woman who is imbued with compassion and respect for nature. The floral jewellery also evokes the thrill and emotion of love in bloom, and the modern woman falls in love with the iconic flower … all over again.

Bijoux de la Mer: Evoking the breathtaking beauty of the sea, Bijoux de la Mer features exquisitely-crafted pieces, brought to life through brilliant diamonds, luminous pearls and opulent gemstones.

Glamour & Attitude: Celebrating the sassy modern woman, this diamond collection features bold and audacious pieces each telling a story that is anything but boring. They are jewels that can be worn with confidence.

La Rose Blanche: This ravishing collection exudes old-world allure and enchantment, which is inspired by the fascinating tales from the Arabian Nights, where precious jewels have the power to trigger change. La Rose Blanche is both traditional and modern, marrying time-honoured aesthetics of the Ancient East with minimalist style of the West.

Mvee has also a special range called Mvee Hot Couture. This line was launched at the Las Vegas Couture Show in 2011 and targets very high end customers with very specific tastes and who are looking for rare styles and stones. Most recently the brand unveiled two new lines for the Winter – from the Galerie and Glamour & Attitude collection.

The brand is now distributed in 30 different countries and retailed in exclusive, up-market jewellery boutiques and chain stores across Europe, US, Middle East and Asia. The company is currently focusing on the Chinese and Asian market, and had a soft launch in China in 2011.

The striking design themes have also been taken forward at trade fairs where the company is present – and MVee cocktail party themed booths attracted a lot of attention at the Hong Kong shows last year, while its castle design caught the eye in the year before that.

Creativity in design is supported by a commitment to top-notch service, with representatives in different parts of the world working closely with the clients in those countries. Clearly it’s a company that will continue to make waves.
