She is among a handful of jewellery designers to have her diamond jewellery creation grace a nation’s postage stamp and in other occasions has created historic jewels for nations, royalty and for all who love diamonds.

Reena Ahluwalia paints highly nuanced, hyper realistic diamonds with ultra-magnified facets. Soul and story are integral to her as she paints her diamonds on canvas, ranging from 2-feet to 10-feet tall. Reena Ahluwalia painting collectors are spread around the world. Limited in nature and considered rare collectibles, the provenance and value of Reena’s paintings has risen over time, and is related to her many artisticachievements and historic milestones. Depending on the size of canvas, Reena Ahluwalia diamond paintings can take anywhere from one to three months to complete. Let us find out more about her paintings.

Diamond World: How and when did you start painting?
Reena: I have been painting since I was very young. My earliest memories are of being occupied with sketching and painting to express my imagination.

Diamond World: Why are diamonds central to your paintings?
Reena: Diamonds are my passion; my lifelong’s work as a jewellery artist. My relationship with them is intimate. They are not mere shiny objects to me. From objects of desire, of aspiration, as markers of special moments in people’s lives to being historically significant, diamonds hold a special place in people’s lives and livelihood. I am intrigued by the way people relate to them.
