Founded on the principles of ethics, trust, foresight and hard-work, KP Sanghvi & Sons has come a long way. As they inch towards their golden jubilee, Kunjal Karaniya brings you the time-line of their journey.

On May 10, 1965, in the new post Independence era, two young men, Late Hajarimal Sanghvi and his brother Babulal Sanghvi, both visionaries with family inspiration gushing in their veins, set up a diamond trading organisation which today has grown to become one of the most prestigious names in the diamond industry – KP Sanghvi & Sons. Named after the initials of their grandparents Kaniben and Poonamchand Sanghvi, the KP Sanghvi group was built on the foundation of four key parameters – ethics, trust, foresight and hard-work.

“We attribute the growth and success of our group to many key partners involved without whom this would not have been possible – our mining partners, our suppliers, our loyal long serving employees and the fresh talent we get every year,” humbly states Babulal Sanghvi.

One of the major reasons behind the success of the brand is the insights and leadership of three generations of the family working together. The entire KP Sanghvi family continues to progressively carry forward the magnificent legacy created by their founders. “We focus on quality products and servicing with ethics,” he proudly says. The company follows the principles laid by their founding fathers. “We have always believed in working on our offerings and core strengths rather than on beating competition. We truly believe that if our own products and services have a niche, it will distinguish us from the other players in the market and we will have the preference,” he explains.

Each generation brings change. “Adapting ourselves to that change is the biggest personal success of the management,” he adds. Working with three generations in synergy gives a new dimension to the company every day. KP Sanghvi as a brand constantly strives to move forward keeping the roots and beliefs of their founders in place.

The brand has been growing at a yearly average of 15 per cent and their focus is on doing the same ahead, too. In addition to setting examples of excellence on a global scale, the group also strives to make a larger, positive impact on the lives of consumers by creating value and wealth for all.

KP Sanghvi follows a system of integrity and ethics that encourages growth without compromising their values. “We strongly believe in the power of people, investing in them, nurturing them, protecting them and creating opportunities for them to grow and excel within. With these values as our compass, and a strong belief in organic growth, KP Sanghvi continues to lead the way forward in the diamond industry and the world beyond,” he says.

In-depth and hands-on knowledge of the diamond industry and its needs, brings out the best of craftsmanship which is truly our inspiration, he shares. Efficient and state-of-the-art, the manufacturing processes employed at KP Sanghvi, bring out the best in every diamond, transforming them from their rough form to brilliant gems that dazzle for generations. In addition to this, “our Research and Development team is constantly exploring new-age technologies, developing efficient processes and inventing new cuts - Cupio is one such example,” he explains and thus he rightly sums up, “A Legacy of Craftsmanship is our USP.”

Amongst various community services and CSR activities, Shree Pavapuri Tirtvh Jiv Metri Dham is very dear to the group, situated at Sirohi district of Rajasthan. This campus is developed by KP Sanghvi Group and it comprises of a Jain Tirth (Temple complex) and Jeev Raksha Kendra (Animal Welfare Center).

Kumarpalbhai V. Shah inspired Late Hajarimalji Poonamchandji Sanghvi (Bafna) and Babulalji Poonamchandji Sanghvi (Bafna) to construct a Tirth Dham. They started construction and development of the campus on May 30, 1998. The initial thought was to construct a small temple and a shelter for 100 cows only but the campus is now spread over more than 500 acres of land. The temple complex occupies 31,01,472 sq. ft. area and the Jeev Raksha Kendra (Animal Welfare Center) occupies 71,96,112 sq. ft. area to provide shelter to 6,300 stray cattle.

It took two and a half years to construct the temple with an average of 400 artisans working daily. The construction was completed on February 07, 2001 and was finally opened for worship. Shree Pavapuri Tirth Dham is a shining example of Jain Temple Architecture and Culture.
