The aim of the summit is to promote a more organised educational summit to professionalise and educate the Indian gems & jewellery industry thereby helping the industry to maintain world-class industry standards and systems for business operations. This summit is also in line with the current GJF Chairman’s theme for the year “Talent for the Talented”.
Mr. Vedant Jatia, Chairman, IIJ commented “India as a country is growing. Urban India is rapidly developing and growing, but on the other hand rural India is amplifying and the business of jewellery is actually flourishing. The sale and consumption of jewellery in rural India, is way higher, then, in comparison to urban India. Rural India needs the actual education, as jewelers in these areas are not exposed to international business standards and methodologies. It is in rural India where the true numbers in terms of volume for jewellery are, hence, Vinaya will be focused more on Tier II & Tier III cities.”
