The Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) has opened the 13th India Rough Gemstones Sourcing Show (IRGSS) 2026 in Jaipur, with rough emeralds from Zambia at the centre of this year’s sourcing programme.

Running from August 24 to September 11, the show features Kagem Mining Ltd., Zambia, which is presenting its rough emeralds directly to more than 60 Indian coloured gemstone manufacturers.

The event was inaugurated by Shri R.K. Chandan, Commissioner of Customs, Jaipur, with the support of Jaipur Customs. Shri Jeevan Ram Dhaka, Assistant Commissioner of Customs, ACC Jaipur, also attended the inauguration.

GJEPC launched the IRGSS sourcing model in Jaipur in 2020 to give Indian manufacturers an opportunity to inspect and buy rough gemstones locally, without having to travel to producing countries. The initiative also aims to establish a direct sourcing channel between mining companies and India’s manufacturing sector.

Jaipur’s established role in coloured gemstone processing, particularly emeralds, has made it a key location for the sourcing programme.

The industry delegation at the inauguration included Shri Yogendra Garg, Regional Chairman – Rajasthan, GJEPC, and Shri D.P. Khandelwal, Convener, Coloured Gemstones Panel, GJEPC, along with members of the Council’s Regional Committee and Coloured Gemstones Panel Committee.

The latest edition continues GJEPC’s sourcing initiative aimed at bringing rough gemstone suppliers closer to India’s coloured gemstone manufacturing base.
