The conclave brought together industry stakeholders to discuss developments across the global diamond trade and India’s position within the international supply chain. Discussions focused on manufacturing capabilities, market opportunities and the evolving requirements of the global diamond industry.
India’s established cutting and polishing ecosystem remains a key component of its position in the global diamond trade. The country’s manufacturing base combines skilled craftsmanship with technology and established export infrastructure, supporting its role across different segments of the diamond value chain.
The conclave also provided a platform to discuss the changing dynamics of the international diamond market and the need for the industry to adapt to shifts in consumer demand, technology and supply-chain requirements.
GJEPC’s participation comes as India seeks to strengthen its role beyond traditional cutting and polishing, with greater emphasis on value addition, international market access and developing capabilities across the broader gems and jewellery ecosystem.
The council has previously used international diamond industry platforms to bring together miners, manufacturers, retailers and other stakeholders to address supply, demand and trade-related challenges.
