First introduced in the 1920s as delicate accents framing gemstones, the golden beading technique evolved into a house emblem and, in 2008, into a dedicated Perlée collection. Over the decades, it has symbolised Van Cleef & Arpels’ timeless craftsmanship, adorning jewels and watches alike with joyful elegance.
The maison’s latest creations elevate this heritage into the realm of haute horlogerie. Housed in white or rose gold cases bordered by luminous beads, the dials showcase enchanted forest scenes where sculpted fruits and whimsical fairies take centre stage.
The Myrtille model features a glossy blueberry, while the Framboise highlights a vivid raspberry, both brought to life through Van Cleef & Arpels’ patented façonné enamel technique. Developed in 2023, this process involves moulding and firing enamel to create rounded, voluminous shapes with lifelike depth and brilliance. Surrounding the fruits, miniature-painted foliage and engraved gold backdrops add layers of movement and texture.
Each dial is further embellished with hand-sculpted fairies in rose or white gold, their wings set with diamonds, embodying the maison’s poetic storytelling. Even the casebacks carry hidden signatures – a butterfly on the Myrtille and a ladybird on the Framboise – details meant for the wearer alone.
Part of Van Cleef & Arpels’ Extraordinary Dials collection, these watches represent the pinnacle of its métiers d’art, requiring up to 300 hours of work per piece. From enamelling and gem-setting to lapidary artistry and engraving, generations of craftsmanship converge within the maison’s Geneva workshops.
Powered by Swiss quartz movements, the Perlée Extraordinaire Fruits Enchantés timepieces extend the collection’s legacy beyond fine jewellery into high watchmaking, embodying the maison’s enduring vision of refinement, joy and elegance.
