The new Tiffany Rope watch draws design inspiration from the iconic French jewellery designer Jean Schlumberger and incorporates a solar-powered movement developed in collaboration with Swiss watchmaker La Joux-Perret. Beneath its semi-translucent dial lies an array of solar cells that allow the watch to run for up to eight months on a full charge, even without further light exposure.

The timepiece features a twisted rope motif bezel, created in 18k yellow gold and embellished with concentric braided gold rings separated by a band of round brilliant diamonds. Available in two sizes—27mm (38 diamonds, 0.52 carats, priced at $16,000) and 33mm (39 diamonds, 0.90 carats, priced at $22,000)—the watch underscores Tiffany's continued focus on merging artistry with innovation.

While watches have historically played a minor role in Tiffany’s portfolio, the category has seen renewed investment since its acquisition by LVMH in 2021. The company has since launched watch collections that echo its signature jewellery lines, including Eternity Round, Eternity Cushion, HardWear, and Jean Schlumberger by Tiffany.

Tiffany’s watchmaking heritage dates back to 1851, when it partnered with Patek Philippe, and later established its own manufacturing facility in Geneva. The new Rope watch signals a fresh chapter—one where high jewellery aesthetics and modern mechanical ingenuity meet.
